GUYS. PLEASE READ THIS. I BEG YOU.

Journal Entry: Sun May 5, 2013, 10:30 AM
To all my friends on Tumblr, DA or FA who are not Malaysian, or are unaware of the current situation in my country right now.

I need you to see this. I need you all to know that my country does not play fair in elections. My country uses phantom voters, money to bribe people, bringing foreigners on overseas from Bangladesh, Myanmar, Indonesia and the like to buffer votes and in the process, manipulate and lie to them that they will be taken care of. They also try to cover up what is really happening inside the country- so others outside the nation do not know the terrible truth that is happening in it.

They murder those that question them if they aren't high-profile enough, they silence our protests with lies and call it rioting. Not only that, the police- the very people the nation trust to protect and guard them- also take part in harming the people of Malaysia who speak out. Tear gas. Water cannons. You name it.

Most of you are friends and/or artists from around the world that I admire and respect. I need you to know what we are going through. The world needs to know. You guys who I've added on Facebook, this is the reason why I've been posting and spamming like mad the things related to the election.

Please know this. This country is corrupt, but it's people are fighting for it. Please.

Credits go to one of my sensei for this idea.

  • Watching: YOU.
  • Playing: Nothing...
  • Drinking: Water

Fen, I just saw this. I'm very mad that some people in your country are harming others. And also, I'm infuriated that the police (the very people we SHOULD trust) also take part in it. Now, I want to tell you something, I'm from America, and I'm 14 years old, but I understand COMPLETELY what's happening because of our countries history and war history. Also, I hope you stay strong and keep fighting and getting others to know and help fight back. Again, I'm really mad that this is happening, and I hope you stay strong. Oh, and one more thing, :onfire:<---- bad guys that are doing the bad things. Stay strong!

I was made aware of this from a discussion on Danny Choo's website (unusual given it's a site dedicated to Japanese culture), and I've spoken out about corrupt politicians before (our Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister are just two of many such people who lied and cheated their way into their positions), so I know (at least, to a certain extent) how you feel.

Hopefully things will work out in the end, and although I cannot offer my services in overthrowing the corrupt (as I am unfortunately not Iron Man or any other such flying durable hero XD), I'm willing to support in any way I can.

hey fen!
first off, i'm not even so sure about what i want to say. politics is a sensitive issue, and if i'm allowed to choose, i'd rather not talk about it that often, especially if it isnt US or local politics. :P
but anyway..
im pretty sure even a few years before ge13, it has come to light to most Malaysians and perhaps some of my countrymen (including me) that Barisan Nasionalis (is that how it's spelt? :x) is rather suspicious. i know i had my eyes on BN when PM Najib took Mr Anwar to court several years back. no secret there!
other than that.. all i can say is that this stirred up quite a controversy. its difficult to accept. a neutral party should be brought in to investigate this (international anti corruption agency?); the truth should not be kept in the dark for that long. >:(
right now, i dont wanna pick sides right now. im not a fervent observer of Malaysian politics, and in life, im always taking a neutral viewpoint when looking into matters as such. dont want to be biased, you know? being one-sided can be very unfair, especially if you havent looked at the other side of the argument. right now, i dont see any evidence of a BN clean slate, so im not gonna pick a side right now, but if they dont produce any argument for a long time, im really gonna suspect that something fishys going on.
well, that does it for my talking. well wishes to all Malaysians in finding the truth of BN's corruption!
oh and dont let this stop you from doing your art :D be strong!

That's because they try to censor all media, so tbh the Internet is the last free media we have left.
Newspaper, news channel, radio- everything is controlled by the government.

In my opinion, Malaysia's election was not about choosing parties, but choosing regimes
As in much of Asia, Democracy has been more of a administrative affair rather than a popular right.
For countries like Japan, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, South Korea, and Malaysia itself, Democracy is more of a recent thing for their politicians but for the people, Democracy has being an unfulfilled promise not until the 21st Century. Yet as a chronic disease, Nepotism and Cronyism from already established Politics still continue to influence power.
This is also because, Malaysia had its greatest economic development under the rule of Barisan Nasional at the cost of social welfare (including women's rights). therefore many people who voted for BN either lived during such development or did like the image of Najib as a reformer within a stagnant regime.
Actually, these things also happens a lot, Japan with LDP, South Korea with Saenuri, Indonesia had it with Golkar, Taiwan with the Kuomingtan, and China with the Communist Party.

I come from a country that had more self-put dictators than democratically elected Presidents such as Bolivia.

As I am politically Liberal-Moderate, I am against these forms of unfair politics and applause you for being open to say your opinion and thoughts.

I hope the best for Malaysia and its people with all my heart

You are welcome, Sweety

I love to discuss these topics as they affect the destiny of so much people.
I love Malaysia and its culture (both Traditional and Popular), so I was very concerned about these elections

Hopefully Najib will try to modernize and reform his party, but these elections sent his party and the opposition the following: The People are not to be fooled

And yes, I follow you in Tumbr and it is so awesome
I love it >^w^<

Having lived in Malaysia for almost a decade, I can safely say that the corruption here is way worse than Indonesia. In Indonesia, the corruption is up front and no cover ups are taken, but here... Christ, here they murder, maim, bribe and corrupt behind the scenes, hiding the truth from the world... and that just sickens me. And the fact that we as citizens have no power... just makes me want to take something and kill that bastard Najib by my own hands.

And sis, they also used those blackouts last night on purpose to hide the phantom voters, and cheated balot slips were all around that counts the vote as "For BN" even if you voted for PR...

Well.. that's politics, nothing we can do... but I swear, that Najib is gonna get bitch slapped by Karma soon enough

Ah, I see Dx

Can't fight violence with violence though or we'd be as bad? :)

Yeah, I know. A friend's friend even witnessed it firsthand.
Not only that, the paper which was supposed to be torn into half and have a stamp on both halves- some polling stations didn't have it, so it was null vote.
My gramps went there and got that paper, then when they wanted to return it and get a new one, the lady said they couldn't. >:U And everyone knows if you found a spoilt balloting paper, you're supposed to be able to return it and get a new one.

Hope so too man.
Or maybe God come down from heaven with a battalion and knock some sense into him.

Bringing foreigners and immigration is a problem for Malaysia? Maybe not. But making false promises that they will be taken care of? That's going to be a problem.

It seems lots of injustice are happening over there. Water cannons and tear gases, bribery and murder, were any smartphones and pads used? They'll be very helpful when releasing images and videos to the internet to garner support against these abuses, though I suggest keeping a low profile if you and your friends and neighbors are using technology.

Politics are sadly corrupt. This is true in all countries. There have been attempts at reform to battle corruption in every countries' history, but somehow corruption always find its way.

Yep!

Facebook is littered with multiple posts relating to that incident, as well as Youtube (youtube if you search hard enough.)
Moreover my grandparents witnessed it first hand, the stamp that was supposed to identify(legalize/seal?) the vote- wasn't stamped on their paper, and the polling lady refused to give them a new piece of paper when they asked why the stamp was missing.

Ah, agreed. Still hoping for the best though, in five years I'll be able to vote!

I know how you feel Fen-senpai. I wonder if people will ever figure out that no matter what they do, they can't change the fate of honest voters... I support PAS all the way since I was 5 and never in my entire life has my family did such a debacle....But now all they do is spit on each others opinion that it just a flood of saliva that drowns us all (eww...wrong metaphor :P)... so oh well

Agreed man.
My family had been supporting the BN all this while, but that was before they found out how they misused the money to buy handbags, apartments, valuables and countless other things-

Figured it was time to give the other party a chance and all, y'know?
After all, a government with only one party would be an oppression, a communist country, even.

indeed...But although I find BN's promises reasonable, it's just that people see it as too good to be true and will stop at nothing to achieve it. On the other hand, Pas also makes reasonable points but I don't know either they would cheat or not....its so confusing with politics and $#!t...

I don't, man.
I mean BN's promises are one thing- free laptop, good! Etc etc, good!
But behind that is a problem: the laptop costs 2K RM, yet they list the price down as 20K RM. where does the 18K go?
I'm sure you're also familiar with the incident involving the purchase of various computers for one of our countries' universities, they listed each computer down as costing rm 60K but when they looked into the matter, it only cost around 2K per computer.
All this embezzlement of funds is gonna bankrupt out country sooner or later, moreover you already probably know that they're using our country's EPF fund to build low cost apartments on the promise that they are beneficial to the country.
Don't we have lots of low-cost apartments available?

And isn't the EPF something not to be touched, as it is the money savings for the retired and elderly? It's the equivalent of someone using your bank money to buy things for themselves without returning the money used.

I mean, it's good that you support the other party and stuff, or just hope for a good change in general.
Sure BN might have been good once, but 50 years of taking care of the country and someone's bound to slack and get lazy.^^"

As for what I've seen, I think Pkr and friends are good? I mean look at Penang, after the takeover it's totally different and clean and such. And Kelantan which is also ruled by Pas/pkr? is surprisingly good and friendly, despite what the current govt says about the laws they would impose and how they'd upset the state and such. just speaking from firsthand experience from visiting their states here-
There's a really big difference between being a leader and someone who just acts like an idiot boss, I think.

wow that's a mouthful....so yeah like Ikr! But then again, I've never been good with this kind off stuff but my parents does. Maybe that's why they've been voting for Pkr for who knows how long? I think if they keep it up, I bet the whole Malaysia will end up with a huge recession with Chinese people being our overlord cuz we had to borrow money from them and they would demand for power in exchange... and we all go drop dead with new shit stuff I could never imagine.... 0_0"
